Load Balancing Meaning

The practice of distributing incoming network traffic across multiple servers or nodes. This ensures that no single server is "overwhelmed" by too many requests, which would lead to slow performance or a total system crash.

It is the "traffic cop" of the digital world. In fintech, load balancers sit in front of an exchange’s "API" or "Web Server." During a market frenzy, when millions of users are checking prices at once, the load balancer directs users to the "least busy" server, ensuring that the interface remains responsive for everyone.

For decentralized networks, load balancing happens at the "RPC" (Remote Procedure Call) layer. Large dApps use a "cluster" of nodes to handle user requests.

If one node fails, the load balancer automatically routes traffic to the healthy ones, providing "High Availability" and a seamless experience for the end-user.
