June 15, 2026 |

In this month’s digest, we look at new industry recognition for infrastructure providers, explore how settlement workflows are becoming increasingly automated, and share details about an upcoming Finery Markets event you won’t want to miss.

Hedgeweek names Finery Markets “OTC Trading & Liquidity Solution of the Year”

Finery Markets has been named “OTC Trading & Liquidity Solution of the Year” at the Hedgeweek Global Digital Asset Awards 2026, one of the industry’s most established award programs recognizing excellence across institutional digital assets.

The award comes after a year of continued growth in institutional adoption, expansion of the Finery Markets network, and increasing demand for OTC infrastructure. Winners are selected through a combination of peer surveys, allocator input, editorial expertise, and industry data analysis.

The recognition follows Finery Markets’ recent inclusion in the Deloitte EMEA Technology Fast 500 and reflects the growing role of institutional trading infrastructure within digital asset markets.

Automated Settlement Module

Our new Automated Settlement Module supports 24/7 non-custodial settlement based on mutually agreed bilateral terms between liquidity providers and payment companies, OTC desks, and brokers.

Designed to streamline post-trade workflows, the module automates settlement execution, position tracking, and risk management through address whitelisting, bilateral settlement setup, payment management, and automated reporting. Following execution, exposures and counterparty risk limits are updated automatically in real time.

Accessible through both API and GUI, the module serves as a central settlement orchestrator and primary data source for accounting and operational workflows while minimizing manual intervention and operational risk.

Why Finery Markets powers leading crypto OTC desks

As OTC markets continue to grow, operational efficiency is becoming just as important as liquidity access. Finery Markets brings together the core infrastructure required to operate and scale institutional OTC businesses within a single ecosystem.

Key capabilities include:

  • Liquidity access: Single API or GUI connectivity to 200+ crypto and fiat pairs
  • Price aggregation: Smart Order Routing and OEMS across 20+ Tier-1 OTC liquidity providers and CEXs
  • Capital efficiency: Support for post-trade credit models that reduce pre-funding requirements
  • Back-office infrastructure: Automated settlement, position management, and audit-ready reporting

The result is a streamlined operating model that helps OTC desks scale volumes while reducing operational complexity.

$600M+ DeFi hacks and their impact on liquidity

The worst month in DeFi history resulted in nearly 30 hacks and approximately $635M in losses. Yet despite the scale of the incidents, the broader crypto market showed little evidence of contagion.

Our latest market analysis argues that the episode revealed something important about crypto market structure: liquidity across DEXs, CEXs, and OTC markets remains highly interconnected but operationally isolated. During the crisis, DeFi volumes declined 22% month-over-month and CEX volumes fell 13%, while OTC volumes increased 22%.

The data suggests institutional participants largely maintained their activity through OTC channels, reinforcing the view that different segments of crypto liquidity often behave as separate ecosystems under stress rather than a single unified market.

What Is a Stablecoin Sandwich?

Stablecoins are increasingly becoming the settlement layer for global payments, but many businesses interact with them through a workflow known as the stablecoin sandwich.

Our latest guide explains how fiat is converted into stablecoins, transferred on-chain, and converted back into local currency on the receiving side. It explores why this model has become one of the most widely used approaches for cross-border payments and what infrastructure is required to support it at scale.

The guide also examines the role of liquidity providers, OTC markets, and payment infrastructure in enabling fast, capital-efficient stablecoin settlement for businesses operating globally.
