Finery Markets Successfully Migrates Trading Servers to AWS in Tokyo

September 11, 2024

In September 2024, Finery Markets finalized the relocation of its trading servers to Amazon Web Services (AWS) in Japan. This strategic migration aligns with the hosting locations of other leading crypto price discovery centers. The objective of this move is to enhance the processing and analysis of market data in near real-time, thereby providing our clients with a competitive advantage.

This has led to enhanced data-handling capabilities, including market data feeds and trade execution. Additionally, many market makers providing liquidity to Finery Markets' ECN have reported a decrease in round-trip latency.

As cloud adoption accelerates within the capital markets sector, cloud-based infrastructure provides crypto exchanges and ECNs with the scalability and flexibility essential for accommodating their expanding customer base. The Finery Markets ECN's proprietary low-latency matching engine enables DMA and brokers to connect to over 100 liquidity pools. It offers pre-trade credit screening, advanced spread-management capabilities, and sub-millisecond matching. The Finery Markets ECN now supports over 200 trading instruments, including cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies, and can easily manage daily trading turnovers exceeding several billion USD.

We have decided to relocate our matching engine to Tokyo to be closer to the price discovery spot of the cryptocurrency markets. For any business, it’s a challenge to scale up quickly while maintaining a secure and robust infrastructure. Using AWS, we can integrate elasticity into our day-to-day operations, making the process much easier for us and our clients.

says Iliya Drozdov, Finery Markets co-founder.

To support its cloud trading infrastructure, Finery Markets uses Amazon EC2, a scalable compute service that provides secure and resizable virtual servers in the cloud. This allows Finery Markets to efficiently run applications and handle variable workloads with ease. For data management, it utilizes Amazon Aurora, a database solution designed for exceptional performance and availability on a global scale.
