Web 1.0 Meaning

Web 1.0 describes the earliest era of the World Wide Web, roughly spanning the 1990s to early 2000s, when websites were primarily static and information flowed one way from publishers to users. Pages were built using simple HTML, with minimal design and no user-generated content or interactive features.

The business model during Web 1.0 centred on displaying information, advertising, and e-commerce catalogue listings, with limited user engagement.

While revolutionary at the time, Web 1.0 lacked the dynamic, social, and participatory elements that emerged in later web iterations.
