Transaction ID (TXID) Meaning

A Transaction ID (TXID) is another term for a transaction hash, commonly used in blockchain systems. It uniquely identifies a transaction on the network.

Users rely on TXIDs to monitor confirmations, troubleshoot delays, or provide proof of payment. Most block explorers index transactions by TXID.

While TXID and transaction hash are functionally identical, the term TXID is more prevalent in user-facing tools.

TXIDs enable precise referencing within decentralized systems.
