Newb Meaning

"Newb" (or "Noob") is a slang term for a newcomer to the cryptocurrency space. It describes someone who is inexperienced, often naive about the risks, and unfamiliar with the technical jargon.

Newbs are easily identified by their questions ("When moon?", "Which coin should I buy?") and their tendency to chase hype. The crypto ecosystem is notoriously hostile to newbs, with a steep learning curve known as the "Crypto Rabbit Hole." Newbs are the primary targets for scammers, rug pulls, and phishing attacks.

They often provide the "Exit Liquidity" for more experienced traders during a market top. However, every expert was once a newb.

The community also has a strong ethos of education ("Orange Pilling"). Many resources, Discords, and influencers are dedicated to helping newbs transition into "Sophisticated Users," teaching them the importance of self-custody ("Not your keys, not your coins") and proper research (DYOR).
