Large Cap Meaning

A term describing assets with a high "Market Capitalization," usually in the billions of dollars. In the digital asset world, Bitcoin and Ethereum are the primary large-cap assets.

These are generally considered "safer" or more stable investments compared to mid-cap or small-cap assets. Large-cap assets typically have deep liquidity, meaning institutional investors can buy or sell large amounts without causing massive price swings.

They are often the "first movers" in a bull market, as capital tends to flow into established, "blue-chip" projects before trickling down into higher-risk, smaller-cap assets. While large caps offer less "explosive" upside potential (it is much harder for Bitcoin to do a 100x return than a tiny new token), they also offer significantly less downside risk.

They are the foundation of most balanced portfolios, providing a "store of value" and a benchmark against which the rest of the market is measured.
