Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE) is an advanced cryptographic standard that enables computations to be performed on encrypted data without the need to decrypt it first. In traditional encryption, data must be turned back into "plain text" to be analyzed or modified, which creates a window of vulnerability where the data could be stolen. With FHE, the data remains in its "ciphertext" state throughout the entire processing phase, and only the owner of the private key can decrypt the final result.This technology is the cornerstone of "privacy-preserving computation."
